Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council are to commence a weekly food waste recycling service to Malting Mead starting from 30 March 2026. This is in line with new Recycling legislation.

Each flat has been provided with a 5-litre green food waste caddy for use in the kitchen, along with a recycling guide. A communal 140-litre green food waste bin has been placed in the bin store cupboard in Block 1 for residents to dispose of their shared food waste.

Do not use the communal bin before the service start date.

The communal bin will be clearly labelled and must be used for food waste only. No other waste should be placed in this bin. If the bin is contaminated, it may not be emptied, and the cost of removing contaminated waste may be charged.
